We are partnered with an organization based in the Roanoke/Blacksburg, VA area seeking a Technical Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate should have working knowledge of metal parts manufacturing and casting processes. Candidate must be a hands-on problem solver.

Position Highlights:

• Work directly with customers to ensure metal components are designed for optimal manufacturability
• Assess and recommend optimal manufacturing process or metallurgical options for prototyping to production
• Troubleshoot part quality issues and work with our foundry and machining facilities to achieve desired results.
• Perform audits of off-site foundries and other suppliers
• Work with and support account managers by providing technical expertise to assist their sales efforts

Skills and Qualifications:

• Knowledge of engineering solutions to help drive profitability.
• Knowledge of Ferrous and non-ferrous casting process.
• Experience in Defect analysis of castings.
• Experience with nondestructive examinations of metal parts (Visual, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, and Ultrasonic testing),
• Excellent communication skills in order to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences,
• Effective personal organization skills.
• Must have a a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Must be located in or willing to relocate to Roanoke, VA
